Really? Waco?

I'll believe a Waco streetcar when I see it.

It could happen. And there's definitely vestiges of a beautiful downtown left in Waco, and Baylor would be way better off as a campus. Right now, it seems to be the one isolated pocket of "urban" Waco that actually looks nice, but if it could make it easier for its students to interact with the downtown, who knows what could happen?

At the very same time, Ft. Worth still doesn't have any competition to develop the first modern streetcar system in Texas. Waco's dream has to be at least a couple years away from even beginning planning, whereas Ft. Worth might be building their system by then.

As a side note, I love how they chose to illustrate Portland's "modern streetcar" with a heritage trolley.

Now, if they're going to start streetcar, I say they re-start the Texas Electric. :D

Fast, electrified service to Dallas!
