$600 Million for Streetcars?

Perhaps in Seattle soon. Maybe they'll beat out Portland or Minneapolis for first streetcar network. Fort Worth is hot on the heels as well. It seems to me that this would be a really long term bonus project with new jobs coming from the construction of the line and the densification that will come along the lines for years after construction.

Folks at Pike Place Market, Belltown and Lower Queen Anne are excited.

South of there, not so much. Mainly because the Waterfront Streetcar was stolen from them and even with the viaduct plans bringing it back, it's still not quite a sure thing.

Can't we make GM pay for all the new streetcars to replace the ones they destroyed? With interest.

AJ, I'm not sure what you mean. The Central Streetcar goes deeper into the ID -- and even all the way East to Jackson and 23rd.
